Yesterday was pure awesomeness. I got up early to drive Mom to work, and when I finally got the sleep out of my eyes, realized Dad was off work. Since Dad was off work, that means I didn't have to babysit. In which case, I could go off with James, and would not be needing the van. Went back to sleep.

When I woke up, Dad and the kids were leaving to go have brunch (he invited me, but I was not interested). I got online, chatted with David, decided I needed a smoke, and called David while smoking, which surprised him. We've never talked on the phone before. It was fun.

Having watched the bonus footage of the 5.6.7.8s playing on the Kill Bill dvd the night before, I felt inspired to wear a yellow-green halter top and do my hair like theirs. By 'do my hair like theirs,' I mean that I had half of my (now shoulder-length) hair up, twisted, with the ends fanning out at the top, and the bottom layer of hair that was left flipped out. It was super cute. I even wore my yellow flip flops. Bonus points: I talked to Suzie (who lives in New Orleans) on the phone last night, and asked her if she'd finally seen Kill Bill yet. She said she had and "that cute Japanese girl band reminded me of you." Yessss. After watching the footage, Dad said (again) I should be a drummer. On another note, Atlanta Adam and Robley and Jason P.R. formed a band called Lazer Vision and the Double Werewolf. Adam said he'd help me freshen my skills up if I'd be their drummer. Go!

James came over, Leighton showed him some magic card tricks, and he and I left. I finally got my social security card Thursday night (that's right, my dad keeps everything), so I was able to fax a copy of it along with other needed documents to the apartment place in Atlanta. Whoo! That was a secret mission within itself, getting my social security card. Mom got all suspicious when I wanted it (?! Because it's mine, and I'll be 20 in 5 days!), and then I had to go through all the files to try to find it. I decided it was in Dad's briefcase (right!), and had to figure out what the combination was. It has three digits, so I had to start with 001, 002, 003...all the way to 700. I didn't have time to find out after 700, but it's all good, because as soon as I asked Dad for it, he handed it over. I told you my mom's a sketch!

After finishing our mission, we went to Dothan to eat. We ended up going to Chikfila, agreeing to go somewhere nice for dinner. When we'd done all that Dothan has to offer, I suggested we go get plastic lighsabers. The boys in Atlanta like to fight each other with plastic lightsabers (thanks to the handle on his, Josh has a wicked scar on his thumb knuckle; they get pretty violent), and since we'll be living in Atlanta soon, I saw no reason not to join in the action. It was decided I should get the red lightsaber, since James wanted blue, Josh had purple, and Robley has green, so James got his at ToysRUs, and we had to go back to the mall and then Walmart to find a red one for myself. It's awesome. I have Darth Vader's lightsaber.

While we were discussing getting lightsabers and sipping Snow Joes outside of BooksAMillion, Soren called me. The night before I'd had to drive my brother to the park for track tryouts, and just hung out for the next 2 hours at the park. Soren came to hang out so I wouldn't be bored, and brought his best friend, Mark. I went to highschool with Mark, but we never really hung out or anything. He was a skater, wore a Spam shirt religiously, and my best friend at the time had a ridiculously large crush on him. Mark's all grown up now, and instead of skater clothes is all GQ'd out. Also, he talks a bit with an urban, for lack of a more precise term, accent. So Soren calls and I asked what he was up to. He was like, "Sitting on my couch with Mark....He wants you to come over." I got a kick out of that. I'm not interested or anything, but I thought it was damn funny. Enough said.

James and I were gonna go to dinner and see a movie while in town, but excited about the lightsabers, I talked James into going back to Ozark and watching Star Wars movies instead. I even invited Josh, and we ended up watching the movies at his house. We watched The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi (I believe...the first and second original movies, at any rate) until 1:30 this morning, and smoked a lot of cigarettes in between. Josh and I are usually pretty quiet around each other, but after the trip to Atlanta, it's a lot more fun hanging out, since we know each other better now. I love it.

James's ex-roomate from the Marines is in Birmingham for a week or so, and having heard numerous stories about the guy, I want to meet him. Apparently he's really ugly, yet a porn king. This interests me. Of course, the fact that I'd finally get to meet someone James worked with doesn't hurt either (since I missed out on that California trip, thanks, Dianne). We may or may not drive to Bham to see him, though I'm REALLY hoping we do. If not, we'll head out to Dothan to see Day After Tomorrow with Josh and Etchasketch, most likely. I'm opting for Birmingham...I can see movies anytime.

Anyway, I'm gonna go sit outside, smoke, and read Lost by Gregory Maguire. That man's a genius. Here's hoping I don't run out of cigarettes before I see James.

I'm the new Bridget Jones. Just ask Josh's roomates who all saw me in some step of undress (by accident) last week. Robley: panties. Josh: bra, panties. Matt: just pants, no top at all. And my misbehaving skirt took care of even more people seeing my (pantied) ass.
